Hub 1922

Busto Arsizio (VA)

A German chemicals company asked me to take care of their design when they decided to expand their business by setting up their first showroom in the Italian capital of fashion and design.

A very ambitious project from the start.

They made the choice to settle in an industrial building that was originally an old fabric factory of the late 19th abandoned for ages. A place certainly full of history but also many technical and architectural challenges.

It was necessary to coexist the technological elements (machinery and tools) cumbersome and noisy with the administrative part (offices, conference rooms and living spaces) in the same place.

How to create a clear and pleasant space in what should be a production line?

A composition of transparent cubes and raw industrial elements delimited the spaces. Glass cubes were created to alternate open spaces and individual offices by isolating them from the machinery while allowing the light to take pride of place in this old warehouse.

A mezzanine of raw metal overhung another cube of glass separates, as for it, offices and showroom. They can there display collections and new products.

A meticulous dosage of technical elements and design, all punctuated by raw materials and sprinkle with vintage objects (trunks and boxes transported in Europe).

"Justinside design with Justine offered us a comprehensive, personalized and bespoken service. She was there from start to finish always on hand. She creates spaces that invite you in, and designs room layouts that beautifully build in the most wonderful pieces sourced from artists designers and suppliers. The final result is amazing. We would highly recommended Justinside design and Justine. She is a lovely person and has the patience of a Saint."

Thanks, Moraldi' family
